The Science and Art of Building Trees
This section won’t teach you how to build a saddle tree. Far from it. But it gives you an idea of some of what goes into it. There are extra sub-pages on what equipment and materials you need, about the most complicated part of a tree (the cantle, believe it or not), about duplicating trees, what records we keep and why we do, and why it is a good idea to order a hand made tree. There is even one on things to consider if you want to be a tree maker. But we will start you off on this page with some general information and then a little history of saddles and trees.
