All About Rawhide
Rawhide is the traditional covering for a western saddle tree. While synthetics of various kinds can be faster and easier to use (they take far less baby sitting), they have yet to pass the test of time. (In another hundred years or so we will know how well they have held up. ????) So while we didn’t necessarily hold to strict tradition in everything, rawhide was still our choice for covering our trees. Here’s some of what it takes to rawhide a tree.
